KOP's Top 5 Places For Last Minute Holiday Dresses

So is it just me or did Christmas come out of no where??? If you are anything like me you've held off all shopping for others and holiday events till the very last minute. Well don't you fret my friends I have made a quick list of places that you can find something frugal and fabulous to give or get by Christmas and definitely  by New Years. ENJOY!!!!

1.  ASOS

:
Asos Velvet Skater Dress $53.06

I live by  this site. It's based in the UK but has super fast shipping and really reasonable dress prices. Their selection is also pretty large so you won't have to worry about being anyone's twin at the office holiday shindig. If you order by December 21st, you will receive your order by Christmas Eve for free. Sweet!

2. BOO HOO

Monica Lace Midi Dress $52

This is another UK based site. I really don't shop here for my everyday clothing but they have some awesome dresses for the holiday season. They are also moderately priced. It's very rare for a dress to be priced over $100. If you order by December 21st you will receive your dress by Christmas Eve but there is a $15 shipping fee. Give some take some....

3. NASTY GAL

Precious Metals Fit and Flare Dress $68

Nasty Gal has been getting a lot of attention lately because of it's owner Sophia Amoruso's book Girl Boss. The site is very on trend and edgy so if you're looking for something with a little extra umph visit this site. I will add that prices do reach into the $300-500 range. If you don't mind treating yourself for Christmas go for it but there are also less expensive dresses too.  If you choose the overnight shipping by December 22nd your dress will arrive by Christmas Eve. My fashion forward girls.....this is my gift to you.

4. RENT THE RUNWAY
Award Winner Gown by Badgley Mishcka $100

If you're in to designer but you can't afford designer, I have a solution. At RTR they carry labels such as Reem Acra, Henri Bendel, and Zac Posen that you can rent for not even half of what the dress costs retail. You can stop salivating now..... This is also perfect for someone going to a black tie function because they have floor length gowns. Their selection is limited but it's worth the shot for the chance of wearing your dream dress.

5 YOUR CLOSET

I'm sure there is something in there you can wear. Breathe new life into old threads by styling them with a pair of extra special shoes or a statement piece of jewelry. It's not always necessary to by something new for an event. This is why it's important to be able to know how to wear the sames things differently....GET CREATIVE.

This is the season of giving so share this post with a friend.

Happy Holidays,

Rihanna Dubbed Creative Director of Puma ..... Fashion Forgets theFundamentals for Fame?

The fashion world is buzzing with news that pop star Rihanna has taken another leap in the fashion industry by becoming the global ambassador and creative director of the active wear brand Puma. I cannot deny that Rihanna is one of the biggest fashion icons of our time,  solidified by her receiving the CFDA Style Icon Award for 2014 BUT I'm not completely convinced that  being well dressed makes you qualified to lead a multi-billion dollar fashion company.

For those of you who are not familiar with what a creative director does, he or she is responsible for designing the brand and leading the companies creative and business orientated teams in implementing marketing strategies. This position is one of the most important and coveted in any fashion related company. The majority of respected CD's in the fashion industry earned this title for showing tremendous creativity, a thorough understanding of their brand's target market, and having the ability to foresee the future of the  industry to ensure their company remains trendsetting . Think of Albez, Jacobs, Lagerfeld!  This amount of skill takes time to develop through years of experience, experience that Rihanna doesn't have. She doesn't even creatively direct herself.

Before I am attacked by the Rihanna Navy, let me say I don't have an issue with her come up. My issue is with these companies who are pimping out their positions to celebrities in hopes of increasing sales and breathing life into stale public images. When was the last time any of us reached for a pair of Puma's....I'll wait. This is more about them utilizing her global impact than her expertise and creative opinion. For people like me who have taken the time to study the industry through education or field experience, this sucks! Why? Because these are our dream jobs and futures that are being given away to people who won't stay in the position for long and will need the support of company employees anyway.

I guess congrats to Rihanna on another check but I miss the days when your place at the round table couldn't be bought by money stacks or status.

Honestly,

Material Girl

Hello Lovelies,

I hope all is well. So we're in the beginning days of November and the year is coming to a close. I have no idea where 2014 went but I can say I was blessed in so many ways and I cannot wait to see what 2015 has hidden under her sleeve.
\
This " Outfit of the Day" is featuring my favorite material ......leather. I think I'm obsessed with leather because it speaks to a few different sides of me. It has sex appeal, but is still edgy and definitely screams confidence. Most of these pieces are faux  leather but genuine leather is expensive so I think it's great that faux leather pieces are available. It seems to have become even more popular than the real deal. If you like this look say tuned for the details listed below!

Always with love,

Beanie: Burlington Coat Factory
Bomber Jacket: Goodwill
Top: Zara
Pants: Zara
Boots: Charlotte Russe but I took them to my shoe maker to replace the bottom with a genuine leather sole and thicker heel

Introducing Press Posh .... Webisode 1 Fall Fashion and Style Collective Haul

Hello Lovelies,

It's been a little bit of a minute. I have to be completely honest. Fashion week completely kicked my butt. Trying to stay on top of your schedule, attend events at all hours of the day, and still be productive at work is no easy task. I was super exhausted and had to take a mini blog break BUT I am coming back with something super exciting!!!!!!

Today I am starting a new feature on the blog entitled Press Posh. This will be a collection of videos that you can find on here or YouTube where I discuss certain topics. A lot of the times I find myself wanting to share things with you guys but I feel as if  simply writing it won't effectively relay my message. I think actually getting on camera will help me better communicate some of my ideas, tips, and tricks. I hope you guys enjoy this new addition to the posh projeKt.

The video above is just of me showing a few of the things I picked up while shopping, to get me ready for Fall.....Which starts like tomorrow BTW. These are my basics. The basics we choose vary from person to person, depending on personal style. That's another topic I will also be touching on shortly. If there is any specific topic you would like me to do a video on just let me know through email, social media, or comment on a blog post. I love you all and stay tuned for some great fashion week recaps. Can we say COSTELLO!!!!In the mean time....don't forget to PRESS POSH.

Agent Provocateur Launch Event. AP Celebrates New Boutique and Fragrance "Fatale" at Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship

Welcome to September Ladies and Gentlemen,

For some this means the official end of summer and time to get back to real life, but for all the fashionistas in the world it brings the most important time of year....FASHION WEEK!!!! Editors, press, bloggers, buyers and of course stylists will be stomping the streets of New York City to get a glimpse of next season's fashion trends. There are fabulous events happening all around town and I'm going to try my best to tag you along.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the launch event for Agent Provocateur's boutique within Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as their new fragrance "Fatale".  For those who are new to the brand, Agent Provocateur is a luxury lingerie line that has some of the most beautiful, sexy, yet classy undergarments ever created. They are frequently seen being worn by the hottest celebrities and can be found on the pages of the biggest fashion publications. In addition to their stand alone boutiques and online shop, you can now purchase their garments inside Saks Fifth Avenue.

The event was super fun. Champagne and these delicious chocolate covered strawberries were passed all night. A photo booth  equipped with all types of kinky toys to pose with added a cool element to the party. Life like mannequins were posed throughout the space, adorned in intricate Agent Provocateur lingerie. And we can't forget the gift bags, stuffed with your own bottle of the product of the night....."Fatale". The energy was great but why it wouldn't be. We're all young, alive, and it's fashion week!
\
Stay tuned for more happenings guys. See you sooner than later.

A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN

Outfit Details

Hat: K Mart
Blouse: H&M
Skirt: Burlington Coat Factory
Shoes: DSW
Necklace: My Mother
Bracelets: Alex and Ani

So it's August and the summer is quickly coming to a close. Usually by this time I'm ready for Fall but for some reason this year I don't want the summer to go. I have been through a lot personally these last few months so I think the energy of summer served as a light in my life. It could also be because the Winter was absolutely dreadful and I never want to experience anything like that again. At least we have Fall fashion to look forward to.

While visiting my mom in Brooklyn I noticed her building opened this little garden area that I thought was so cute. The lighting was just right. It's kind of hard to find peace in Brooklyn so I really enjoyed hanging out with her in this little hide away.

Have a great week!

Face the Heat | 5 PRODUCTS FOR A FLAWLESS SUMMER FACE

So the Fourth of July has passed and that means it's officially summer. I know one of the hardest things to deal with during these hot summer days is keeping your makeup in tact. One thing I want you to know is LESS IS MORE. As much as we ladies looooove and adore makeup there is no denying the fact that still clogs the pores, making it difficult for the skin to breathe. Add some sun to the mix and we have a messy situation. There is nothing cute about having makeup dripping down your face. Would you believe me if I said you only need five products for a full face look this summer? Well here they are my friends. You can use whatever brands you may prefer but all the items highlighted are very affordable and can be found in your local drug store.

1.BB CREAM
(Maybelline)
Instead of a foundation try a BB creamIt's not as heavy, gives the face a smooth finish, and has SPF to protect your skin from the sun. BB cream is a little sheerer than foundation but applying concealer over your blemished areas will give you the coverage you want.

2.BRONZER (Physician's Formula)
Give your self that sun-kissed look by applying bronzer to your cheeks,t zone, and upper chest area. When the sun hits your skin you are going to look like a goddess. For edge more glow add a highlighter to the under eye area for a lifted and contoured look.

3.BLUSH
(Sonia Kashuk)
Use a pink, peach or orange blush for a summery flush. These tones look great on all shades and give the skin a feminine and natural touch.

4.BOLD LIP
 (L'oreal)
Find a vibrant lip stick or gloss similar to the shade of your blush. It's perfect for summer because it's
bright,youthful, and fun.

5.BROWS
(Revlon)
Fill in your eyebrows with a pencil or powder to define their shape.  This step is a very important part of giving your face that clean, finished look.

I hope these tips come in handy. If you know any other tricks or have any products you think are essential to the summer beat comment below. Enjoy the last half of the work week my loves!!!

THE BOOK OF LOOKS FEATURING WARBY PARKER AND THE HOME TRY ON PROGRAM

Hello Everyone,

HAPPY JULY! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. I definitely did. I spent time with family and friends, went to a few parties, and ate some really good BBQ. I'm just really excited that summer is finally here.

I know starting the week after a long holiday can be hard but this week it didn't seem so bad because I received an awesome package from Warby Parker in the mail a couple of days ago and I just couldn't wait to share it with you guys.

Warby Parker is a great eyewear company that makes very cool seeing and sunglasses. They are especially fantastic because with every pair you purchase another is donated to someone in need. Eye care is definitely very important so it is great that Warby Parker is giving the opportunity for all people to see better and brighter.

Sometimes finding the perfect glasses can be tricky. You think you like a pair but what if they don't fit your face they way you would like. Or maybe you want to try a new frame design but don't know if it's exactly your style. Warby Parker has a great option called the Home Try-On program perfect for helping you make the best decision for you and your eyes. How does it work?

Step 1: Visit WarbyParker.com

Step 2: Choose five pairs you would like to try on

Step 3: Once received in 2-3 business days you have FIVE DAYS to take each pair out for a test drive. Don't be afraid to ask friends in person and on social media about their opinion on your frames. Use tag #WarbyHomeTryOn for their input too!

Step 4: Decide on which pairs are a no or a go and order your brand new frames on WarbyParker.com

Step 5: Send all the glasses back in their original packaging with the shipping label they provide. Then sit back and relax because your new frames are on their way.

The only frames that cannot be selected are those from the Karlie Kross collection but don't worry, there are plenty of fabulous designs in the summer collection to pick from.

Here are a few pairs I choose for my Home Try-On and of course I had to give you some summer style to go along with it.  I had a great time looking through these shades so I hope you enjoy The Book of Looks.

KOP Styling Featured on THESUNK.COM

Late last year I shared some behind the scenes photos of a menswear editorial I did featuring blogger Steven Hall, also known as The Sunk. We've finally released the project and he has featured it on his blog The Sh*t You Need to Know. Make sure you check out his site because it's filled with interesting material from dating, food to music and pop culture but WARNING it's definitely not for the sexually shy. The link to the photo story on The Sunk's blog can be found here. More of my styling work is coming ladies and gents. I promise. But for now enjoy what I entitiled "The Lone Wolf".

King of Posh Interviews For The Vocal Vixen

First I would like to start off with a HAPPY APRIL LOVES!!! I hope no one was horribly  tricked this past April Fool's Day. In New York we have already been staying true to the old saying "April Showers", with slightly warmer yet rainy days. But nothing can rain on my parade today because a great interview  I did for celebrity news and fashion blog, The Vocal Vixen, went live today. I am so humbled when others take the time to notice what I am working so hard to accomplish.  It was great to be able to express who I am and what my brand stands for. You can find the complete article  here. Thank you all for your support and hopefully there will be more press to come!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Presents David Tlale Fall 2014

Happy belated Valentines Day! I hope everyone felt loved in someway on that day just as I hope you feel loved everyday. In the spirit of my love for fashion I bring to you another runway recap from this past season's fashion week!!!!

David Tlale provided a mind blowing presentation at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014. Everything from the music, to the models, to the progression of the line from beginning to end was perfect. I had the pleasure of sitting front row and the craftsmanship and detail of the garments was amazing. There was an extra touch of sparkle on some pieces that made them een more special. Although I have used a number of words to describe Tlale's collection, the word I feel describes it the most accurately is dynamic. This was the most dynamic collection I saw all week. Tlale started with a light taupe color and very polished casual to business casual looks. Then, he moved us into a more edgier feel with midnight blues, black, and leather accents. Finally, he ended with these amazing gowns in the taupe, midnight blue, and black colors. The finale gown was a black sheer garment made with sheer black fabric and over the top flower details. I was in love. I dare to say EVERY type of woman could find a piece she would love in this collection. This is rare with designers, as many tend to point their vision in one direction, with one person in mind. The collection was elegant, chic, fashion forward, sexy,.....and so much more. Throughout the show all you could hear was the gasps of of the audience and cameras clicking as each and every garment hit the runway. It was a grand experience and I am more than happy I was able to witness that type of artistic expression and passion.
